My top 5 Street Photographers

I love shooting street. I also love people who shoot street, and more so the work that they produce.

With that in mind, I have put together a list of my current top 5 street photographers.

@jeffreymkarp - Jeff has a wonderful portfolio. He uses simplicity, mixed with dark shadows and powerful light, to really pull you into his subjects. He adds colour to his work quite wonderfully, making his feed one of the most attractive street collections on Instagram. Take a look…

@sixstreetunder - Cambridge based Street Photographer, Craig Whitehead, was one of the first street photographers I truly admired in the current era. His feed is full of eye catching, and sometimes unorthodox, compositions - making his work easily recognisable. Craig is a wonderful example of a street photographer who can capture the decisive moment. Go check him out yourself. If you want to develop your skills, why not sign up for one of his fantastic workshops - SixStreetUnder Workshops.

@josephinestreetpics - A photographer with a more traditional street approach, a style that could fit an era gone by or the present moment. Josephine’s craft in someway feels timeless. Effortlessly capturing the people that go by her, with an eye for style and making the mundane seem interesting...

@samantha.geraghty - Based in the glorious Spanish capital that is Madrid, Samantha has a marvellous eye for street portraits. It is clear Samantha has a way of interacting with her subjects, as is evident in the work she produces, they always look both engaged and relaxed.

@alan_schaller - Alan Schaller is a co-founder of Street Photography International. His work focuses on light, texture, shape and subject. Shooting in black and white, Alan’s work always has a clear and completed look to it. His vision from taking the shot, right through to post production, is something I really admire - he has been an inspiration for great street photography.
